Testimonials

“I want to let you know that the William Blew "History of Steeple-chasing" arrived safely in today's post. It is truly everything that I expected and more. The book arrived in good sound condition and all the color plates, which you said, were also in fine condition. I can't thank you enough for the highly professional service you gave to me. I hope that we may work together again in the future. Again, my thanks and very best wishes.”

“ The book arrived promptly and was beautifully wrapped in tissue paper. The outer cardboard packaging was stout and prevented any damage in transit. I am very pleased with my purchase which is to be a present for my Aunt. She will be absolutely delighted with the book and I have no hesitation in recommending this seller. A very positive experience.”

Gemstone: Lapis Lazuli is a relatively rare semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense blue color. The name lapis lazuli means "blue stone", lapis from the Latin for stone and Lazuli from the Arabic for blue ‘azula’.

In ancient times, lapis lazuli was known as sapphire (from the Greek word sappheiros meaning precious blue stone), which is the name that is used today for the blue corundum variety sapphire. It was particularly prized by the ancient Egyptians for amulets, ornaments, seals and jewellery, and was even used by Cleopatra in a powdered form as eyeshadow.

Lapis lazuli is regarded by many people as the stone of friendship and truth. The blue stone is said to encourage harmony in relationships and enhances creative self-expression. Traditionally believed to increase mental clarity, virility, and calm, Lapis Lazuli is a great choice of gift for teachers, lecturers and public speakers.
